There are many perks to living in one of Boston’s most exciting and thriving neighborhoods. The Boston Seaport has grown from an industrial area to an innovative and lively area where people want to visit and live. Development abounds and in addition to luxury condos, the area also boasts parks, walkways, culture, dining and fun.

Perk #1. The Waterfront.

The biggest perk to the South Boston Waterfront is the thing that gives it its name—the waterfront. With its natural beauty and charm, the waterfront creates an amazing view for everyone that visits the area. Those lucky enough to live in this growing area, can just look out the window to get a visual treat. In addition to great views, the city has a 50-mile Harborwalk that allows visitors and residents alike to enjoy the outdoors while strolling along the wharves, piers and shoreline. In addition to the views, the Boston Harborwalk has points of interest along the way including sculptures, restaurants and businesses.

When you choose to live in the Seaport District, you are not living in a concrete jungle like many cities. Rather, the South Boston Waterfront has many parks that spruce up the area and provide ample opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors. The Waterfront gives city living the benefit of green spaces. If the desire arises to enjoy some green space, you won’t have to travel far.

  • Fan Pier Park—a landscaped walk on the marina with grassy seating areas.

Pier 4 one-acre waterfront park—Coming soon!—as part of the new Pier 4 development, a one-acre waterfront park will provide additional green space and a place to enjoy the great waterfront view.
  • Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway—15 acres of public parkland created by the Big Dig is a short distance from the Seaport District.
